Foraged Narratives

Kate Leonardo

I aspire to explore the use of foraging as a form of knowledge exchange, as is still practised in many communities that use this activity to survive. In doing this I would like to encourage people to see the environment around them through the lens of a forager. This is achieved through personifying objects found on the street and giving them narratives, discussing the found objects in a more engaging and relatable way. I then create dramatisations of my own personal experience and relationship I formed (with the object) during the finding of the object. Doing this through the medium of film means that the short encounter I had with the object can be captured and shared freely and in a non-hierarchal communication, in an immersive experience.
