The Hole in Wholes
This project is about the map not being the terrain. The terrain is reality.
Which is the thing-in-itself independent from observation.
The Map is sensuality. It’s all that we can touch of a thing, i.e. we’re always walking on maps.
Everything exists in difference with itself, between what it is and how it seems.
Luce Irigaray talks about love as the total, complete, infinite acceptance of difference.
To do this, that is the plan.
This err towards love and sex is not an accident of metaphor. Loving an object involves throwing yourself into its sensual world. The map is ferocious and volatile and intoxicating, at skin deep.
